Overview
5 total transducers
The acoustic architecture squeezes five total transducers into a compact frame. The two on the sides spread sound horizontally into the room, while the centre tweeter provides crisp, clear dialogue.
Microphones
Noise-rejecting mics listen for your voice commands. Alexa is built-in, or you can access Works with Google Assistant capabilities with a compatible Google device.
Upward-firing transducers
Two upward-firing speakers on the top of the soundbar reflect sound off the ceiling for realistic overhead effects.
Immersive sound
The digital signal processing (DSP), which includes proprietary TrueSpace technology, is precisely tuned to fill the room with rich, natural sound. So you feel like what you hear is coming from areas where there are no speakers.
Sleek design
Featuring a matte-black top and wraparound metal grille, this soundbar is designed to complement the aesthetics of your room. And at 69.3 cm wide and just 5.6 cm high, it looks great under any TV. Or mount it with the optional bracket.
Start with the Smart Soundbar 600, then add more Bose Wi-Fi-enabled products to fill your home with music. Group them for different songs in each room, or the same music throughout.
Prefer Bluetooth instead? With Bose SimpleSync™ technology you can connect the soundbar to selected Bose Bluetooth headphones or speakers for a private listening experience or more sound.
FAQs
How is the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 different from the Bose Smart Soundbar 900?
Both products are great at delivering an immersive sound experience. The main differences are related to the acoustic performance. While both provide an immersive experience, sound great, and have similar feature sets, the Smart Soundbar 900 will play louder and deeper than the Smart Soundbar 600 and also uses PhaseGuide technology, which provides an even more immersive experience. Smart Soundbar 600 has 5 speakers in total, while the Soundbar 900 has 9 speakers in total. The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 also includes ADAPTiQ audio calibration technology, which adjusts the sound of the soundbar to best fit your room, no matter the shape or furnishings.
What is Bose TrueSpace technology?
Proprietary Bose TrueSpace spatial processing intelligently analyses signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and upmixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience with a sense of height in the soundscape. The result? Enveloping immersive sound no matter what you watch.
Unlike Dolby Atmos – which requires compatible content, hardware, content source and speaker system – TrueSpace will take any content, regardless of how it was encoded or your home cinema setup, and deliver that Atmos-like experience.
What is Works-with-Google certified?
Works with Google gives you voice control over content playback on Works with Google-enabled Bose devices. This is done via an additional proxy device such as a Google Mini. The command is given to the proxy device, while the content itself is played on the Bose device. You can set up a Bose device as the preferred speaker in the Google Assistant app—this defaults content playback to that device. If you don’t set the Bose device up as a preferred speaker, you will need to include the name of the Bose device in the command.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 have 4K pass-through capability?
No. It only handles the audio output from the TV, no external video goes through the soundbar.
Does the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 have Ethernet built in?
No. You cannot connect an Ethernet cable to the soundbar, it only connects over Wi-Fi.
What placement guidelines should I consider to ensure optimal audio performance from the Bose Smart Soundbar 600?
The soundbar will sound great in almost any environment. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 uses the reflective surfaces of your room to deliver a spacious home-cinema experience. To ensure optimal audio performance, the soundbar should be placed equidistant from each side wall and directly in the front-centre of the TV. No objects should be placed in front of the soundbar, nor should it be placed recessed inside a cabinet, as this would result in a limited sound stage. Also, nothing should be placed directly on either side of the soundbar since there are side-firing transducers located on either end. Similarly, nothing should be placed on the top grille since that would obstruct the up-firing transducers.
Can source devices, such as a cable box, iPod, gaming system, etc., be connected directly to the Bose Smart Soundbar 600?
No. All sources must be connected to the TV and then a single connection (via the HDMI or optical cable) must be made from the TV to the soundbar.
Can I use a third-party universal remote control with the Bose Smart Soundbar 600?
Yes. The soundbar can be controlled by third-party remote controls that include the set of widely published Bose IR codes.
Can the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 be mounted to the wall?
Yes. You can use the optional Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket to mount the soundbar to the wall.
Can the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 be used with other Bose smart speakers and soundbars as part of a multi-room system?
Yes. You can group any of our smart speakers and soundbars together for multi-room listening using the Bose Music app. This way, you can fill your whole home with music—either synchronised or with different music in different rooms.
Can I put the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 in standby mode with my voice?
Yes. Simply say, “Alexa, turn off [speaker name]” or “Hey Google, turn off [speaker name],” (if a compatible Google device is on the same network). This action will stop any content playing, turn off any lights on the light bar and disconnect Bluetooth devices. If enabled, Amazon Alexa will still listen for voice commands in standby mode.
Can you mix and match the wireless bass modules and soundbars?
Yes. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600, the Bose Bass Module 700 and Bose Bass Module 500 all use the same wireless protocols and can be mixed and matched. However, the design language and materials of the Bass Module 500 look more complementary with the Smart Soundbar 600.
Can I connect two wireless bass modules to my soundbar?
Yes. If you desire even more bass, you can wirelessly connect two bass modules to your Bose Smart Soundbar 600. But you can only connect two of the same bass modules. In other words, you must connect two Bose Bass Module 700 units, or two Bose Bass Module 500 units, to a single soundbar. You cannot connect one Bose Bass Module 700 and one Bose Bass Module 500 to a single soundbar.
Can I use Chromecast to cast audio content to groups of Bose smart speakers and soundbars?
Yes. You can cast audio content to your group of Bose smart speakers or soundbars through the Bose Music app or on the products themselves. Start by creating a group in the Bose Music app and casting to that group, or by pressing and holding the Action button on the connecting device to pair them into a group that’s playing a cast stream. Group your ground floor speakers, or all the speakers in the house and get the party started.
